Our Mission

Baloney.ai exists to help restore truth as common ground — in media, in government, and in business.

Public argument has become an argument about facts themselves. When two people cannot agree on what is true, they cannot productively disagree about what to do, and every debate collapses into a contest over whose account to believe. Our purpose is narrow and practical: to dispel myth, and to move discussion back onto scientifically validated knowledge.

Non-partisan, by construction

We are non-partisan and non-political in our approach. A claim is inspected on its evidence, not on who said it or which side it helps. False statements are made by every party, every industry and every institution, and a fact-checker that only finds them on one side is not checking facts — it is keeping score.

This is not merely a promise to behave well. It is built into the method. Every claim is evaluated blind by five frontier AI systems from five different labs — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok — which do not see one another’s conclusions. Two further models, chosen at random, then validate the result independently. No single system, and no editor, can decide a verdict alone.

Evidence you can check

We do not ask you to trust an AI. We ask several to examine the evidence separately, then publish what each of them found — every score, every citation, every source that was discounted and the reason it was. If our conclusion is wrong, the material needed to demonstrate that is on the page.

Scores are never typed in by hand. A verdict can only be changed by running the panel again, and when that happens the revision is recorded. That constraint exists so the number on a report means exactly one thing: this is what the models found.

What we are not

We are not an arbiter of opinion, taste or morality. A great many important questions — what a society should value, how it should spend, what it owes people — are not factual questions, and no panel of models should be asked to settle them. We inspect statements that are capable of being true or false, and we leave the rest to the argument it belongs to.

Submitting a claim is anonymous: no login, no account, no name, ever. We hold no personal data about the people who use the site, because the safest way to protect information is never to collect it.

Truth is not a side. It is the floor everyone has to stand on to argue at all.
